The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, August 19 reveals Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will be in for an unpleasant surprise upon her return.
Also coming up, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will run into Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Plus, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will apologize to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). And Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will share a romantic evening.
Y&R spoilers tease Matt will walk into Crimson Lights as Sharon is carrying a bin of dirty dishes. “Why do you keep coming back?” she’ll ask him angrily. Matt will ask her how Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is doing. “I don’t want you to ever forget or downplay all the horrific things you’ve done to my family,” Sharon will tell him.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Sharon Tells Matt He Needs To Forgive Himself
She’ll add that Nick is defeated and filled with shame. “I’m so sorry,” Matt will say, and ask if there’s anything he can do. “Why don’t you just go away?” she’ll reply. Matt will tell her he has a job, with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Sharon will be taken aback and Matt will say he feels a level of acceptance from Phyllis.
“This is what I want,” he’ll add. “I want a life here.” Sharon will admit she did some unimaginable things not that long ago. She’ll say she believes he is truly trying to change. “But I also know how hard it is to do that when no one wants to believe it’s real.” She’ll suggest he’s looking for absolution and can’t move forward because he’s stuck.
Matt will start crying. “Everything that I did to hurt you,” he’ll say. “Yeah there’s a part of me that wants your forgiveness, from you and from Nick, even though I do know that’s never gonna happen.” Sharon will tell him forgiveness doesn’t come easy and maybe he only needs to forgive himself. But he’ll say he’s going to stay and earn her forgiveness, no matter what it takes.
At the ranch, Nikki will bring the romance home from Venice. Victor will hear romantic music and there’ll be a note for him. Then Nikki will come downstairs and put a venetian mask over her eyes. She’ll gift him a book of love poems and he’ll read one to her.
Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will buy a small bottle of champagne and pour himself some. Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will come along and Billy will say he’s got everything he ever wanted. She’ll ask if this is about his new job at Chancellor. “I am legitimately about to get my hands on a company I never should have lost in the first place,” he’ll reply. “The Abbotts own Chancellor and I’m gonna run it.”
Audra will ask if Sally approves of this and Billy will say she doesn’t know yet. She’ll point out Chancellor’s been a big issue for them in the past. “What do you think she’s gonna do when she finds out you made this big move without discussing it with her?” Billy will say he thinks she’ll be happy for him.

“I’m willing to trust you on this Chancellor thing if you’re willing to trust that I’m not gonna hurt her either,” Audra will reply. “So, what do you say?” Billy will say she’s been a phenomenal friend to Sally. And they’ll toast to being friends, just as Sally walks in.
At Jabot, Jack and Kyle will discuss Billy. Jack will say if Billy wins, he hates what it’ll do to Lily. But if he loses, Jack doesn’t know where it’ll push his brother. Kyle will tell his father he needs to step back from all of this and Jack will agree.
At Society Lily will tell Cane that it didn’t go well with the lawyers, they could be in real trouble if what Billy is saying is true. “We will have to fight him with everything that we have,” she’ll add. Cane will tell her he’s all in and he’s willing to play dirty.
Lily will say she doesn’t want to fight the Abbotts and doesn’t want to play dirty. But she’ll do whatever she has to in order to keep Chancellor. “I am my mother and father’s daughter and if he wants to mess with me he will regret it.”
Finally, Jack and Kyle will walk into Society and Jack will tell Lily he’s sorry about what she’s going through with Billy. “Not sorry enough to stop him, apparently,” she’ll reply. Jack will say his effort is on de-escalation and Lily will say she understands he’s loyal to his brother “My loyalty is to Katherine,” she’ll add. “Which is why we are not backing down.”
